چکیده

The high penetration of uncertain resources challenges the security power system operation. By taking impact rescheduling under contingencies into consideration, reliability-constrained unit commitment (RCUC) is developed to address this challenge. Although several efforts have been made in modelling reliability constraints, existing methods can only manage oversimplified low-order temporal-independent without considering wide-range or their state-transition-process issue. To quantify on normal-state scheduling process denoted by UC problem, paper builds up a Bayesian inference method for encoding constraints temporal-dependent contingencies. Three predictors, example, expected-generator-rescheduling-power, expected-energy-not-serviced and lost-of-load-probability, are selected describe possible corrective behaviours quantified using method. Then, these predictors reformatted as set linearized be incorporated UC. proposed RCUC comprehensively considers effect Therefore, it reveal influence generator keep better performance than those reported previous studies. modified IEEE 30-bus test 118-bus used show model's effectiveness.

Cost-based Unit Commitment Considering Demand-side Resources with Harmony Search Algorithm

Integrated resource planning has been performed by electric companies, because of its multifarious benefits in power system operation. Demand Response Resources (DRRs) can be used as a virtual demand side power plant. DRRs are clustered to IncentiveBased Programs (IBPs) and Time-Based Rate Programs (TBRPs). Precise modeling of DRRs helps the system operator to investigate the impact of responsi...

Solving Constrained Unit Commitment Problem Considering Valve Point Effect

Optimization of the power system plays a major role in power system planning. Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatching are the most important part of every plant-planning project. Unit Commitment is the problem that searches the economical way for power generation, when the power consumption and altered constraints of the power plants are considered. Recently, the attention of the environmental...

Lagrangian Relaxation-Based Unit Commitment Considering Fast Response Reserve Constraints

Unit commitment (UC) is to determine the optimal unit status and generation level during each time interval of the scheduled period. The purpose of UC is to minimize the total generation cost while satisfying system demand, reserve requirements, and unit constraints. Among the UC constraints, an adequate provision of reserve is important to ensure the security of power system and the fast-respo...

Unit Commitment for Isolated Microgrids Considering Frequency Control

This paper presents a mathematical model of frequency control in isolated microgrids, which is integrated into the Unit Commitment (UC) problem. In conventional UC formulations, power outputs are considered fixed between two periods, yielding a staircase pattern with respect to the energy balance of the generation and demand for a typical dispatch time horizon (e.g., 24 h). However, in practice...

Reliability-Constrained Unit Commitment Considering Interruptible Load Participation

From the optimization point of view, an optimum solution of the unit commitment problem with reliability constraints can be achieved when all constraints are simultaneously satisfied rather than sequentially or separately satisfying them. Therefore, the reliability constraints need to be appropriately formulated in terms of the conventional unit commitment variables. In this paper, the reli...
